December 5, 2024: In their first effort to “Protect the Unhoused,” STF leaders at UC Berkeley hosted a “Day of Action” to share the research surrounding the housing crisis and to promote resources available to housing insecure students and teachers. STFers gathered on the main campus walkway with posters showcasing their research and held a food drive to collect non-perishables donations for the Berkeley Food Pantry. Photo by Greta Leeb

December 6 – 10, 2024: STFers at Francis Parker hosted two events to celebrate Human Rights Day. Leaders hosted grade-level assemblies for sophomores and juniors to introduce STF and administer the Declaring Our Human Rights Survey. The survey assesses how much the campus community knows about their human rights and where these topics are being discussed in classes. With half the school surveyed so far, they will continue grade-level presentations to freshmen and seniors next semester. The chapter kept the momentum going by hosting a Human Rights Day trivia table where students stopped by to test their knowledge and learn more about human rights. Photos by Gabbi McArtor

December 6, 2024: Following their successful Vote for Human Rights mock election and voter education efforts, the STF class at Alain LeRoy Locke College Preparatory Academy hosted a Human Rights Day chalk event. Armed with copies of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, STFers asked classmates “What do human rights mean to you?” and “Which human rights are you most impacted by?” In the main quad area, students wrote phrases of hope and solidarity and drew pictures symbolizing human rights. Their display inspired the school community to reflect on the meaning and impact of human rights. Photos by Naseem Nowroozi

December 10, 2024: Animo Venice STF leaders hosted an interactive chalk event, encouraging students to reflect on human rights by asking participants, “Which human right is most important to you?” and “Why should we care about human rights?”. December 10, 2024: Shortly after getting approved as an official club in November, leaders at Evanston Township HS hosted a Human Rights Day trivia event in the main lobby.
