October 23 – November 4, 2024: STFers at Hamilton, Palisades Charter, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, and Wildwood schools educated students about their fundamental human rights and the importance of voting with a human rights lens. Through classroom presentations, school-wide voter education sessions, and mock elections, STF chapters are fostering awareness and empowering students to make informed, socially conscious choices.

October 23-24, 2024: STF members at Santa Monica High School hosted in-class presentations for 16 freshman classes, educating students on human rights and outlining their upcoming advocacy events. The presentations introduced STF action plans, encouraged participation in ongoing initiatives, and highlighted their upcoming school-wide mock election.

October 28, 2024: Palisade Charter STFers held an all-day mock election on the main quad, drawing over 500 participants. STF leaders educated 9th through 12th grade classes on the voter pre-registration process, the U.S. Senate candidates, Propositions 3, 4, 6, and 35, Los Angeles Measure A, and the importance of amplifying our voices to impact change. November 1, 2024: STFers at Santa Monica HS hosted an all-day mock election just days before the national election, offering students a realistic voting experience. Nearly 500 students took part, listening to STF leaders’ speeches on voting through a human rights lens. Participants also received insights into Propositions 6, 32, and 36, Los Angeles District Attorney candidates, and the presidential candidates before casting their votes. November 4, 2024: To help prepare their classmates for their school-wide mock election, STFers at Van Nuys HS gave a voter education presentation to social studies classes throughout the day. The discussion focused on why voting is important, vocabulary young voters should know to ensure their rights are upheld and what it means to vote through a human rights lens.
