December 10 – December 12, 2024: Continuing STF’s week of action for Human Rights Day, Corona Del Mar, Da Vinci, Harvard Westlake, Van Nuys, Wauwatosa East, and Wildwood STFers organized a variety of events including trivia tables, schoolwide assemblies, in-class presentations, digital advocacy, and film screenings.

December 10, 2024: Van Nuys STF leaders took their advocacy digital by creating Instagram stories to celebrate Human Rights Day. Their posts educated viewers on the origins of Human Rights Day, its significance, and actionable ways to fight for human rights, inspiring their community to engage and take a stand. December 11, 2024: Wauwatosa East STFers hosted a schoolwide advisory presentation to educate peers on human rights and promote their Chapter. Students decorated gingerbread figures with UDHR articles, which will be displayed in the learning center. As a follow up, the Chapter plans to distribute the Declaring Our Human Rights survey to social studies classes across grade levels. Photo by Maria Sapida

December 12, 2024: STFers at Da Vinci Schools hosted an after school film screening of “A Path to Dignity: The Power of Human Rights Education” continuing advocacy for the Declaring Our Human Rights Action Plan. The event drew 84 attendees and featured a student survey to foster discussions on human rights, offering history students an opportunity to reflect on the impact of human rights in their lives and extra credit for class. Photo by Nicolas Najarro
